The Internal Affairs Branch is a branch of the Office of Professional Standards. It consists of specially trained agents who monitor, investigate, and punish officer misconduct, as well as enforce the Liberty State Penal Code upon officers, specifically (4)15, (4)16, and (4)17

Note: All cases within IA are handled in 48 hours, witnesses and suspects are given 36 hours to respond before the case proceeds.

Operations

The internal affairs unit is operated by Supervisory Agents and is made up of Agents and Senior Agents. Recruits to IA are called New Agent Trainees and must complete an intensive training process before being allowed to operate independently. Trainees must complete one or multiple practice investigations with their trainer, 3 additional investigations reviewed and overseen by their trainer, monitor and patrol in-game with their trainer, and be approved by the Chief of Internal Affairs.
